The Bunker's primary data centre in Kent is an ex Ministry of Defence (MoD) command and control centre. It was built 30 metres below ground by the UK government to protect people and technology from nuclear attacks.

The site is protected by a 3.5.metre high perimeter barbed wire fence. - Three metre thick walls
The data centre structure is encased by three metre thick concrete walls. - Solid-steel doors
Entrances to the data centre are sealed by solid steel doors that weigh several tones. - Military electromagnetic pulse protection
EMP protection includes an array of high energy surge arrestors, cable run screening and equipment screening by continuously welded 3mm thick steel or Faraday caging. - Tempest RFI intrusion protection
RFI 'Tempest' to prevent electronic 'eavesdropping' by containing all RFI leakage to local areas only. - 24-hour sentry and MoD-trained guard dogs
Security staff, many of whom are ex-military or police, maintain a physical presence, and perform regular patrols of the site together with the guard dogs. - CCTV
Monitored infrared CCTV cameras, both above and below ground, cover the site and include a 'last motion picture captured' facility, with thumbnail archives. - Fire Detection Systems
