The Active Mail backup system has been designed from the ground up to integrate closely with the hosted Exchange 2007 system, keeping your data protected. By integrating Microsoft's backup system with Microsoft's messaging platform we are able to offer robust data protection.
Continuous Backup Protection
Data is backed up from Exchange 2007 to the backup system every 15 minutes to allow multiple 'point in time' recovery options per day. Microsoft designed Data Protection Manager 2007 to provide the best backup and most reliable restore for Microsoft Server Workloads. Data Protection Manager 2007 was specifically built to protect and recover Exchange 2007 data.
Backup vs High Availability
Although all mailbox servers are configured in active / passive clusters and data is continuously replicated between these servers it is important to take backups outside of the Exchange 2007 system to a different location.
Remote Backup Location
The Active Office Backup infrastructure is built on Microsoft DPM and housed in a fire protected suite, 25 meters underground within the Bunker data centre complex completely separated from our application platform.
